OMC
Introduction
OMC (new name of previous OMC) allows the programming and the management of all Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office Releases.
The OMC management provides a more secure access and simple remote access through an https connection.
Easy to manage System
- The unified management tool allows one only entry for the installation for telephony, voice mail and Internet configuration.
- It is adapted to the different installation levels from guided and optimized Wizards to a high performance and powerful Expert tool.
Internet and data services management
- With Web based management for all related Internet and data features, there is no need for any specific installation on the PC. Just a browser is required. All the internet and data components are managed using a single multilingual user interfaces.
Management topology
For a quicker answer to customer needs:
- Locally:
Connecting to the CPU LAN access,
Connecting to the LAN,
Connecting to the V24 port of the CPU.
- Remotely:
Via a modem in direct mode or call back mode,
Via VPN SSL for a secure and unique access point (https connection)
For the web based part, via the Internet (VPN tunneling or https connection).
OmniVista 4760
- Introduction
OmniVista 4760 is a client/server and web-based Network Management Application suite, which provides a centralized management for OmniPCX networks.

Provisioning level
OmniVista 4760 provides a centralized management for:
- OmniPCX Enterprise,
- OmniPCX 4400 from R3.0,
- OmniPCX Office
OmniVista 4760 scalable platform can manage from 10 to 50 000 subscribers and 1 to 1000 OmniPCX. The licenses are based on 10 or 100 extensions step.
The powerful database can handle 200 000 CDR - Call Details Record - a day and maximum of 12 million CDR.
Architecture
OmniVista 4760 Server supports Windows ,2000®, 2003® and XP®.
The server is dedicated, except for stand-alone OmniPCX Office solutions and Call Accounting only.
To get to the Server, the OmniVista 4760 Client applications can share the resources of a standard PC. This non-dedicated PC can run on Windows 2000®, NT4® Workstation or Server, Millennium®, XP. The Server includes an embedded Client application.
The OmniVista 4760 Server can also be reached through a browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer® from release 5.0 or Netscape Navigator® from release 4.7.
All the Administration applications can be reached through the OmniVista 4760 web server, with full features.
There can be 35 simultaneous logins to the OmniVista 4760 Administration, via a client or a web client.
This flexibility allows the users to easily access to the tools and information they need, locally on their PC connected to the LAN/WAN or remotely via internet/intranet (web-based management).
OmniVista 4760 is connected to OmniPCX Office via an IP link:
Through a LAN port if a LAN is connected to OmniPCX Office
Or directly on the Ethernet port of OmniPCX Office.
It can also connect remotely to OmniPCX Office through a PPP connection with an ISDN modem or an analog V34 modem.
Configuration
The whole configuration of OmniPCX Office can be done from OmniVista 4760 that embeds OmniPCX Office configuration tools:
OMC on line and off-line
Internet Access web-based management.
Configuration is possible locally or remotely, and it supports the following functions:
Software downloading
Batch mode for pre-programmed save and restore of configuration.

OmniVista 4760 includes an integrated call metering application. Companies use it to analyze telecom costs. One of the main functions of the accounting application is to produce reports on telecommunication costs, according to the information provided by the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Office. Information can be searched, sorted, analyzed and presented according to selected criteria.
All types of hit lists, summaries and detailed reports are possible.
